Born in Qatar, Osam, also known as Hussam Aliwat, is a renowned Oud player and composer whose roots intertwine the rich cultural tapestry of Palestine. Currently based in Paris since 2011, Osam has become a prominent figure in the music scene, pushing the boundaries of tradition with his unique fusion of jazz, oriental, and rock music.
Osam's musical journey began with a profound connection to the traditional Oud, a cultural treasure with deep historical roots. Embracing innovation, Osam transforms the sound of his instrument through the use of guitar pedals, creating a modern and eclectic musical experience that transcends cultural boundaries.
In 2019, Osam unveiled his debut album, "Born Now," a groundbreaking exploration of sound that garnered widespread acclaim. Prior to this, he collaborated with renowned artists, including a feature on Lars Danielsson's album "Libretto III" in 2017, showcasing the versatility of his musical prowess.
